Screens fill wallpapers edge to edge, so if your image is a different shape from your screen, it gets stretched or cropped. The fix is to crop the image to your screen’s aspect ratio before setting it. It takes under a minute.
On iPhone or Android
- Open the photoIn Photos (iPhone) or Gallery / Google Photos (Android), tap Edit.
- Tap CropChoose the crop tool.
- Pick a tall ratioSelect an aspect ratio close to your screen — tall and narrow for a phone.
- Save, then set itSave the cropped copy and set it as your wallpaper — now nothing gets cut off.
On Windows or Mac
On Windows, open the image in the Photos app, click Crop, and choose an aspect ratio that matches your monitor (16:9 for most). On Mac, open it in Preview, use Tools › Adjust Size or the crop tool to match your screen, then export.
